Barnett Jackson

Barnett Jackson, born and raised just across the water from the Motor City, cut his eye teeth on the Sam & Dave, The Tempting Ts, and Marvin, moved on up with Sly & The Family, then headed East to the Big Apple just as Disco was dying and Run-DMC was taking flight.

But Barnett dates his birth, musically speaking, from July 4, 1992 when a local dj pulled his coat to the opening bars of "West End Blues", and introduced him to God. He became a devoted follower of the man called "Satch" and everything his silver horn spawned since. A 10-year-course in Satch and his followers has given Barnett a unique ear for the sound that made America hip and here. And his ear is now yours.
