Laiya St. Clair
Laiya St. Clair moved to Philadelphia in 1999 and has been involved in the Philadelphia radio scene ever since. Laiya's radio
career began at the age of 13 when she served as a volunteer at Washington DC's 102.3 WMMJ. This DC native grew up in a family
of musicians and music lovers, inspiring her appreciation far beyond most. She is now the host of her own radio show presenting
the music she loves, Soul Music. Laiya hosts "Sunday Morning Soul" on 1039 The Beat in Philadelphia. In her 1 year on-air
she has already implemented her "open door" policy to some of Philly's most talented residents including ?uestlove (the Roots),
Les Nubians, Aries, Jaguar Wright, Musiq, Kindred, Common (not a resident, but a constant staple), and most notably Kenneth
Gamble. Laiya is on her way achieving her dream of exposing great music, usually not heard on commercial radio, to the masses.
