Hip Hop Honors 2009 Peformance Shots



As an appetizer for VH1’s broadcast of Hip Hop Honors 2009 (premiering Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c), check out some shots from the show, which taped last night at Brooklyn’s BAM. We attended, and the most amazing thing about the show was the level of respect commanded by veteran acts like Public Enemy, EPMD, DMX and Onyx. Hip-h0p is often fairly criticized for inviting ageism, for tossing aside artists after an album or two in favor of something younger. There was no such prejudice on display last night, as the rapturous audience delievered standing O after standing O, bumrushing the sound as though Chuck D made it only a year ago.
