We first introduced you to the sultry and stunning vocal prowess of Adele back in April of 2008 when we named her one of our You Oughta Know artists. It was with great pride that, some six months later, we watched her dazzle 17 million-plus people when she appeared as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live‘s highest-rated episode since its early nineties hey-day (think Sarah Palin). Her debut LP, 19, went on to achieve double platinum status in her native UK and gold status here, selling over 800,000 units to date.
After touring the world a few times, Adele headed back into the studio to record her sophomore album, 21. While the record won’t be out until late February, we just got our hands on the video for her first single, “Rolling In The Deep.” It’s already garnering stellar reviews, including an unabashed rave from the generally grumpy (yet lovable) music industry guru Bob Lefsetz. It will debut in your living room during this weekend’s VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown, but thanks to the magical tubes that power the Information Superhighway, you can watch it on your computer monitor starting … NOW!
