Cher Re-Records The Fame Outtake, And Other Gaga News Of The Day

by Nick Minichino

Cher, who counts among her pop innovations the origin, with “Believe,” of Auto-Tune-as-aesthetic, is recording a new album, and its lead track is written by none other than Lady Gaga and her writing partner RedOne:

“The Greatest Thing” was written, and recorded by Gaga, for The Fame, but ultimately not officially released. Naturally, that demo is on YouTube.

Speaking of potentially unauthorized YouTube clips, Gaga’s own YouTube account was suspended this morning “due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s Copyright Policy.” The last straw was apparently the clip of Gaga on Japanese television show SMAP x SMAP.

And speaking of Japan, NSFW, un-postprocessed Polaroid outtakes and alternates from Gaga’s 2009 photoshoot with Nobuyoshi Araki for Japan’s Men’s Vogue have surfaced, and Popdust has them. (The Japanese written on Gaga’s arm, naturally, says something about Gaga and Japan.)
