Back in August, we excitedly passed along some reports that iconic metal band Black Sabbath were planning on reuniting. The day after, Black Sabbath founding guitarist Tony Iommi insisted that a journalist had actually misquoted him in an interview, asserting that the band had no plans to get back together. Now, it seems, the band may be set for a reunion after all, with reports that the band recently met at Ozzy Osbourne‘s house to jam.
While it’s not entirely clear what this means (and while we’re approaching the information tentatively, given disparities in the past), Iommi has expressed that he’s gunning for the guys to make a new album. This Friday, on VH1 Classic’s National Metal Day, the band is planning a big press conference in Los Angeles, but they’re not divulging exactly what it is they’ll be announcing. With any luck, the boys will get back together. Either way, on 11/11/11, we’ll definitely be revisiting some of their classic moments, and would love to think that even more are being created for the future.
