Today is VH1 Classic’s National Metal Day, a day of exclusively metal-related content, which includes That Metal Show‘s revealing interview with legendary Guns’n'Roses frontman (and the sexiest man to ever wear leather pants, according to my mother) Axl Rose. In the above snippet of conversation from tonight’s EXCLUSIVE interview, Axl’s first in FIVE YEARS (!!!), he talks about the misconceptions that have plagued his career — and how some were born of simple miscommunication.
When Axl is asked what he thinks the biggest misconception about him amongst the audience might be he replies, “There’s too many things. There’s too many things said. It’s like two decades of people talking. And most of the time they’re talking about things somebody who had a bias started or said. They could have said it jokingly… People say all kinds of things!” Relatable and good-spirited, Axl’s conversation with Eddie Trunk paints him as a true industry veteran with an awareness and understanding (without animosity) of how the gossip mill runs for those in the limelight. And his insight doesn’t end there — Axl’s wise words translate just as easily to the lives of us ordinary folk dealing with haters.
Be sure to check out the full interview on tonight’s episode of That Metal Show, which will air at 11 p.m. tonight only on VH1 Classic!
