Nicki Minaj’s multiple personalities have taken on a whole new meaning. While promoting her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki recently sat with BBC radio host Graham Norton and explained why she deleted her Twitter account this week. “A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me. I reply all the time and get to know them by name and I have a really personal bond with them … not all 11 million, but at least 10 of them a day,” reports Necolebitchie.com.
The worldwide superstar shocked everyone Monday when she vanished from Twitter in a blink of an eye. She was not happy with NickyDaily.com for reportedly leaking music from her next album. She responded to the leak with a surprising tweet: “On 2nd thought I’ll just follow a new set of barbz. The ones I follow r very mean and ratchet. *side eyes them* *looks into the sea 4 more*”. She later tweeted “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f*cking bye.”
There has been rampant speculation about Minaj’s mental state, with many worrying that the stress of the industry is getting to her. Now that she’s claiming a voice in her head told her to delete her Twitter, we’re left scratching our heads. Was it a divine intervention voice? Was it her own thoughts, or was it one of the many characters she’s created in her music? Oh, Nicki. We’ll wait to see how this all plays out. But we have a feeling she’ll back on Twitter soon. Her Barbz are waiting.
