As if Chriannagate wasn’t messy enough, last night Chris Brown released a freestyle over Kanye West’s “Way Too Cold (Theraflu)” that sounds like a diss toward his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Talk about a bad case of the ex. In the freestyle Brown raps, “Don’t f*ck with my old bitches/like a bad fur/every industry n*gga done had her/trick or treat like a pumpkin/just to smash her.” OUCH.
Per TMZ, Rihanna must have gotten wind of the diss track and responded by unfollowing him on Twitter promptly. She also Instagrammed a pink Tweegram that read, “Take that thumb out your butt.” Looks like Rihanna has finally had enough of Brown continually treating her like garbage.
In typical battle of the ex fashion, Brown also unfollowed Rihanna and eventually tweeted:
Well, that was a short lived musical bliss. Only two months ago the two were collaborating on Rihanna’s “Birthday Cake (Remix)” and Brown’s “Turn Up The Music.” People both lauded Rihanna for being able to move past the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of Brown in 2009, and lambasted her for sending the wrong message to women who still suffer from intimate partner abuse. After hearing the criticisms loud and clear Rihanna responded in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest saying, “It’s music, and it’s innocent.” And if that wasn’t enough to keep the chatter going on whether the two had romantically reunited, Brown tweeted the star “Happy Birthday” on her special day.
Can we say drama? A Kanye track sure can make people take shots at their ex, the same ex they were trying to reestablish a cordial friendship with. Brown is right, he never said a name, and it’s possible he’s referring to another ex. Who are we kidding? It was a diss to Rihanna and he knew it would be perceived as such. Maybe now Rihanna has the fuel she needed to be done, done. Besides, we hear a nice rapper by the name of Drake is always ready and willing to whisper sweet nothings in her ear.
