We still have a hard time believing its been almost three years since the incomparable Michael Jackson passed away. To think it has been 25 years since the King of Pop’s seventh album Bad, makes us feel, let’s just say, wiser. Epic/Legacy Recordings and the Michael Jackson estate has partnered together to release the Bad 25 deluxe package on September 18 to honor its 25th anniversary. This is like having Christmas in September!
According to VIBE.com, the package includes three CDs, two collectible booklets and a DVD with exclusive footage from the BAD tour. We’re getting giddy just thinking about the nostalgia from watching MJ moonwalk on the stage in the late 80s. And get this. The CDs included will feature all the original material, plus unreleased recording sessions and audio from his Wembley performance during the BAD tour. As if those weren’t enough incentives to stand in a line as long as Central Park on the day the Bad 25 is released, unseen photos composed in a booklet along with the original cover art and a two-sided poster accompanies the other collectible items.
Executors of the Michael Jackson Estate, John Branca and John McClain, shared their excitement in the release of the 25th deluxe package. “The enormous success of the BAD album and tour was a pivotal moment in Michael’s growth as a composer, performer and producer cementing his role as the King of Pop,” they said. We are thrilled to celebrate such an historic era in Michael’s career with this release.” Now this is how you honor a legendary artist. We’re counting down the days to release. In the meantime enjoy the classic video to the 1987 hit “Bad.”
