2 Chainz Brass Knuckles Were Four Finger Rings

When 2 Chainz LaGuardia Airport arrest hit the news yesterday we knew, as the wise saying goes, something wasn’t clean in the milk. After finding what TSA believed to be brass knuckles in Chainz’s carry-on bag, NYPD took him to jail on a misdemeanor possession of a weapon charge. The southern rapper spoke with MTV News and said the NYPD tried to “assassinate my swag.” Turns out the alleged brass knuckles was only a four finger ring, one of the many pieces of jewelry he has custom made to complement his style. MTV News reports the rapper spent eight to nine hours in jail (according to 2 Chainz) and had all of his jewelry confiscated before he was released after eventually pleading guilty to a lesser unspecified charge. What’s with all this swagger jacking?

In the exclusive phone interview with MTV News he describes his bling as one of a kind. “I do exclusive pieces. My pieces are actual conversation pieces, like literally,” he told the reporter. “When you see my gold, when you see my stuff it’s something to conversate about. People weren’t doing four-finger rings and all that. I just like to set myself apart, so I definitely wasn’t trying to beat nobody up on the airplane or nothing.” He got tired of trying to explain to the officer that it was not a weapon and that he was a rapper. When he arrived to jail people knew who he was without any explanation needed. “…When they finally got to the jail and everybody knew who I was then they started calling their kids and putting me on the phone with their kids. It was like a weird experience,” he told MTV News.

Despite getting his Louis Vuitton case and jewelry taken 2 Chainz wants to focus on the positive work he’s doing like his involvement with Respect My Vote. He said jail is not intriguing and that adolescence is when people are supposed to make those type of mistakes, not now. He has a point. If he could only revive his swag that the NYPD assassinated, all would be right in the world of 2 Chaaaaaainnnnz!
