Listen Up, Pitbull’s “Back In Time” From The Men In Black III Soundtrack Isn’t Just Any Single, It’s The Lead

by

VH1 News chatted with Pitbull at last night’s NYC premiere of Men In Black III regarding his new music on the soundtrack for the upcoming film. Known for hits “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) and “Give Me Everything,” the rapper is working on forthcoming album Global Warming, but currently has the lead single off the soundtrack called “Back In Time.”  He stresses, just a little, to VH1 News reporter that it’s not just any single. It’s the lead! Pitbull says he’s been working hard to get to this point. “Working hard, learning a lot, absorbing, observing, and applying,” he said. “This is just the beginning. So get ready.”

When Pitbull recorded with Lil Jon for Jon’s King of Crunk album, his career soared shortly after. Do a YouTube search for Pitbull and you’ll notice a few of his videos have over 230 million views. That’s not a typo. Two hundred and thirty million, folks. He’s come a long way from being just a feature. He feels recording music for MIB III is a great opportunity to watch and learn from the man–Will Smith–who has gone from music to television to film. “It’s definitely a great opportunity, Men In Black being not only a movie or a business, but a franchise,” he said.”It’s an honor, a blessing and a learning experience.”

MIB III starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin hits theaters this Friday. If you’re wondering how Pitbull finds the time to enjoy life he tells VH1 News, “I always have fun. Work hard, play harder.” With a stage name like Pitbull the fun he has is no doubt unimaginable.
