Anticipation for P!nk’s The Truth About Love keeps growing and growing. We’ve already adopted the album’s first single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” as our break-up anthem and gone giddy over the news that expectant mother Lily Allen and P!nk’s cute daughter Willow will be featured on the album. And today, the word gets better still because Eminem and Nate Ruess of fun. have joined the mix, as well! Babies, rockers and rappers — is there no one P!nk can’t work with? Lily Allen, Eminem and fun. — is there no one P!nk is not not working with.
These guys make for a motley musical crew, but P!nk is a super versatile a pop star and her hits thus far have been pretty wide ranging. There’s a pretty nasty guitar riff on “Just Like A Pill” that would make indie-rocking Ruess right at home, and there is nothing we want more from Lily Allen and P!nk than a “Stupid Girls 2.0.” Willow, too, because there’s no way she’s growing up to be a so-called stupid girl. We can imagine Em having lots to add to “Family Portrait,” a song that’s really not so different from something like his own “Cleanin’ Out My Closet”; and they are both funny and practiced in their mocking imitations of famous people. Plus, P!nk sang the hook on “Won’t Back Down” from Recovery, so it’s only fair he return the favor.
And the best news of all is that P!nk plans to debut the next single from album live at the MTV Video Music Awards next month. Good things cometh to those who wait, and after a three year wait, we’re sure that the collab laden The Truth About Love will definitely be a good thing.
