Tuned In: Grimes Is A Vision On Jimmy Fallon

by (@zaragolden)

Canadian synth-pop singer Grimes made a splash in the last year, her standout album Visions and her distinctive fashion — both on show in the weird and wonderful “Oblivion” video — earning critical acclaim from Pitchfork and W Magazine the New York Times alike. Already a darling of the fringe, she made her American television debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, and we have to imagine she earned herself a few more fans with her performance. Draped in a long red robe and standing in a pile of flower petals, she sang “Genesis” while two women danced behind her in jets of stream. If her etheral-coo of a voice isn’t enough to charm you, then her impressive managing of the keyboard, mixer, and mic all at the same time is sure to get you.

Elsewhere In Late Night…

Grizzly Bear stopped in on Colbert Report for an interview and to play “Yet Again,” “Two Weeks,” and “Sleeping Ute”
Good Old War performed “Better Weather” on Jimmy Kimmel Live
Ryan Star played “Stay Awhile” on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno
Rodriguez performed “Crucify Your Mind” on the Late Show with David Letterman
