The clock is winding down for the RZA directed flick The Man with the Iron Fists. The Wu-Tang Clan‘s master producer embraced his obsession with kung-fu, which led to the Quentin Tarantino approved upcoming film that RZA also stars in. For the soundtrack dropping October 23, RZA called on hip-hop vets for the first album that will be released through his new label, Soul Temple Records. All Hip Hop reports acts like Ghostface Killah,Talib Kweli, Method Man, Pusha T and Kanye West have songs on the 16-track soundtrack. And for a touch of soul Corrine Bailey Rae and Res lend their vocals to the male squad.
Kanye West’s song “White Dress” is mysterious. The obvious link is the white dress being symbolic of a wedding or marriage. Since Kanye is head over heels in love and has rapped about his feelings for his new beau before, it wouldn’t be too far fetched. But considering the way Kanye’s musical brain operates there’s bound to be a larger meaning behind the title, and perhaps the song has nothing to do with its name. Whatever the song ends up being about doesn’t matter nearly as much as the fact that Kanye and a group of hip-hop pros are on one soundtrack that RZA himself worked on. This is a win, win for everybody.
