Things are heating up as finals teams are finally formed on X Factor and The Voice. I can’t wait to see how the skills of our favorite pop-stars-turned-reality-TV-judges Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera fare during the live shows, since we’ve been keeping close tabs on them in a fantasy rivalry of sorts each week. Join in by leaving your shirt indecently unbuttoned Simon Cowell-style while sounding off on who was the better judge below.
Sassiest Comment: “There’s a lot of talent in this group and you’re very good, but I just don’t know if it’s good enough.” Britney delivered this critique to one of her team finalists. Either she was playing good cop/bad cop (poorly) to make it more surprising when she ultimately invited him to join the live show rounds, or Brit really wants to win and is warning the poor teenager that he has to prove himself worthy.
Diva Moment: Did someone forget to tell Britney that being critical and sending people home is part of her job as judge? In the reality check of the night, she stared wide-eyed and horrified after eliminating 15-year-old James Todd. “That’s horrible,” she said as if totally out of touch with the idea of not getting what you want.
Sassiest Comment: “Now he’s gonna beat your a–!” Christina couldn’t help instigating an uncomfortable moment between Adam Levine and the very burly dad of a contestant he was critiquing. Adam had no choice but to choose the kid thanks to X-Tina.
Diva Moment: Christina snatched up one of Adam Levine’s castoffs for her team this week. In true X-Tina fashion she made a pre-steal speech during which she managed to slip in a reference about her days on “something called the Mickey Mouse Club.” Ever heard of it? Me neither.
This week goes to Christina. The hypocrisy she exhibited by mentioning the Mickey Mouse Club after ripping a contestant a new one last year for mentioning his own Mousketeer past was amazing. Give us more than face at the live shows, Britney!
