Christina Aguilera Thinks Her Break From The Voice Will Make Her A Better Coach

by

We’ve acknowledged that the haters are in full force when it comes to Christina Aguilera‘s Lotus. And they’re doing what haters do. But Xtina’s resilient. And like a lotus, she’s determined to bloom regardless. “Lotus to me is the culmination and definition of the unbreakable flower,” she tells VH1. “No matter what its surroundings or the harshest of weather conditions, it survives and continues to thrive.”

Her vocal range is undeniable. For her seventh studio album the star returned to her pop roots, but not by compromising her powerful pipes. To create (and promote) Lotus the singer took a year off from her judging gig on The Voice. For her, the break means she’ll return as an even better coach. “In order to do my job as a coach and to do the critiquing, to be the supportive coach that I am 150 percent, I have to be able to get back to me and the artist that I am.” If we could have it our way we’d see her weekly on The Voice and zone out to Lotus. But we’re content knowing she’s created music we’re excited to listen to.
