Kid Rock’s Rebel Soul Is Full Of Gratitude For The Troops On His New Album

by (@zaragolden)

“I remember when I was making music before the internet, before we had iTunes and things like this,” Kid Rock joked when he sat down with us to talk about his latest album Rebel Soul, which is due out November 19th. Everything except “this stuff,” he said while pointing to his mic.

Something else that hasn’t changed is Kid Rock‘s patriotism. You might recall that Mitt Romney adopted his song “Born Free” as a campaign song, or “Warrior,” which was recorded for a National Guard Advertising campaign. This latest record includes another spirited tribute to the troops, this one called “Let It Ride.” “That somebody would take their lives and say, ‘Yours is more important than mine,’ that just hits home and hits me hard,”  he tells us. “That somebody would put their life in harms way for mine, for my way of life, for things for our country. It’s so unselfish, it’s just heart felt to me. It moves me.”

Does “Let It Ride” move you?
