Lady Gaga’s Co-Sign Sends Tamar Braxton’s “Love And War” To #1 On iTunes Charts

Tamar Braxton slayed “Love and War.” And you will deal. Years of singing backup for her sister, two reality shows later, Tamar’s new music allows her to step from behind the “Toni Braxton‘s little sister” veil. Her talent and name is ready to stand on its own two.

Tamar’s antics on WE’s Braxton Family Values and Tamar and Vince are over the top. Over the top to the point some viewers refuse to support her music. She talks like this, though, ’cause she can back it up. Even her legendary big sister is well aware of Tamar’s angelic voice–once professing Tamar was the best vocalist of the Braxton clan. “Love and War” is the soul stirring ballad from her forthcoming sophomore album. Her vocal prowess covers the deep gutting sound Toni mastered and rises to a perfect alto/soprano perfection. “We stay on the frontlines, yeah but we’re still here after the bomb drops/We go so hard, we lose control/The fire starts, then we explode/When the smoke clears, we dry our tears/Only if love and war.” Those runs will give your favorite a run for her money. No pun intended. Admittedly the song is about her marriage to Vincent Herbert, Lady Gaga‘s manager.

Gaga’s co-sign helped push “Love and War” to No. 1 on the iTunes charts. Gaga asked her 31+ million monsters on Twitter to support Tamar admitting she never promotes other artists. “K I NEVER PROMOTE ARTISTS but if u want your mind blown check @tamarbraxtonher “Love & War” She’s Toni Braxton sister + her voice is BEYOND,” she tweeted.

Gaga is like family to Vince & Tamar. She most likely feels she owes the success of her career to Vince. How sweet of her to use her super fame to show Tamar love. “Love and War” deserved the number one spot for it’s songwriting and sound. But never underestimate the power of Gaga, or better yet, her monsters.
