Meek Mill Vs. Cassidy Drop Diss Records, But No One “Ethers” Anyone

by

A little holiday cheer is needed between Philly rappers Meek Mill and Cassidy. The eggnog is still chilling in the fridge from Christmas, but that didn’t stop the Twitter beef and diss records from dropping. Hip-hop battles take no days off. From what we can gather the feud is merely a battle over the old (Cassidy) vs. the new (Meek Mill) taking the former’s spot. Because God forbid two rappers from the same city be on top.

On Saturday Cassidy unleashed “Me, Myself & iPhone” aimed at his contender’s head to which Meek Mill responded by hopping on Twitter to tell Cassidy the song was garbage. “Listening 2 this diss….. Ima say cuz you lost ya mind! U really gone up top mentally …… I feel sorry for u! Lol,” Meek tweeted. Cassidy responded, “I gave @MeekMill months to respond.. Tomorrow? I thought you wasn’t battling.. FOH That song got you tight!!! Step them bars up..” A lot of talking, or rather typing, with only one diss record. That was until Meek dropped “Repo (Cassidy Diss)” which is ok, but far from the “funeral” he claims to have given Cassidy.

Call us old if it tickles your fancy, but it’s like this: We have high expectations when it comes to rappers recording disses on wax. We’ve lived through Cannibus vs. LL Cool J, Common vs. Ice Cube and most notoriously Nas vs.Jay-Z. Both Meek and Cassidy have a skilled flow. In Cassidy’s heyday he was a beastly punchline rapper. Meek Mill has entered the game with an assassins delivery. Yet both of these tracks leave much to be desired. Unless you’re going to “Ether” your opponent, really, why even bother?
