Big Boi came back in the game figuratively screaming, “I will not lose.” Aside from the positive reviews Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors has received, we finally will get the Andre 3000 and Big Boi reunion we’ve impatiently waited six years for. There’s no Outkast album that we know of in the works, but Big Boi is planning on adding a verse to Frank Ocean‘s “Pink Matter,” which already features 3 Stacks.
Originally FO wanted both guys featured on the Channel Orange track, but Dre didn’t want his first song in six years with his former group member to be on someone else’s track. Apparently things change. Big Boi used his Tumblr to announce his upcoming addition to “Pink Matter.” Along with the picture of the lyrics he added, “Dropping a verse on this Frank Ocean ‘Pink Matter.’” And then the Internet screamed. And rejoiced. It was really happening. Finally happening.
In other Big Boi news, the southern rapper salutes his hometown with the video to “In The A” with cameos and verses from fellow Atlanta natives, T.I. and Ludacris. In a mink adorned with a thick gold chain Big Boi stunts on the streets of Atlanta in the Alexi Papalexopoulos directed video. The camera pans through the less glamorized ‘hoods of Atlanta. Minimalist video to accompany three lyrically compelling verses, but it fits perfectly with the track. Did we mention we shouted at the fact Big Boi and Andre 3000 are going to be on a song together again?
