Allen Stone Shows Us Why He Can’t Get No “Sleep” In You Oughta Know Live Performance

by (@emilyexton)

We’re quite fond of our January You Oughta Know artist, and it appears that the feeling is mutual. After Allen Stone included his visit to VH1 headquarters in the official video for current single “Sleep”–we’re blushing!–we’re more than tickled to be pulling back the curtain on his exclusive acoustic performance from within the cozy walls of YOK Live.

Despite the busy schedule that saw him trekking through Manhattan on a cold winter’s day, Stone brings an incredibly warm and lighthearted approach to the soulful (and boastful) musical assessment of just what’s been keeping him up at night. You see he’s tired, but it’s a good thing. Why put off for tomorrow what you can do today, right? (Those of us already in our pajamas might beg to differ.) Watching him howl his way through what we consider to be foolproof sleepytime remedies that just don’t work for him leaves us with a newfound appreciation for snapping. Check it out above!

In addition to “Sleep” and “Unaware,” Stone also treated us to “Contact High” off his self-titled album, currently available on iTunes. And for more on what it’s like to be Allen Stone, be sure to click through our latest addition of Music Seen, in which we politely followed the 25-year-old around, snapping away.
