We’ve loved Adam Lambert ever since we saw him kill it in his very first audition for American Idol all those years ago, so we’re especially sad to find out that he and his long-time love, Sauli Koskinen have split up.
Lambert revealed the two had parted in an interview with SFGN, adding that “Sauli and I remain really good friends, and I know it’s a cliché thing to say. But it’s totally true. I just gave him a coffee and bagel earlier today. He’s a great person and we’ve had an amazing couple of years together. Things have just run their course.”
Koskinen and Lambert met after one of his concerts in Finland in November 2010. Like, Lambert, Koskinen is an alumni of reality television. He became a famous television personality in his native Finland after winning his nation’s version of Big Brother in 2007.
The two fell in love, but also had their share of drama. In 2011, they were arrested in Helsinki following a physical altercation. Lambert later laughed it off on twitter attributing it to jet lag, drunkenness and general stress and exhaustion.
Now, Lambert isn’t laughing. The two stay close, but they were torn apart by their schedules. Koskinen has to film a show in Finland and Lambert has to travel the world and be a pop star.
We wish the best for them both and are happy they’ve remained friends.
