The Scoop: 9 Things You Never Knew About Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum joined Carrie Keagan, Jason Dundas and the rest of the VH1 Big Morning Buzz Live family to discuss lead singer Hillary Scott’s pregnancy and how it has affected the group. They even gave us (and the world) a special treat singing an a cappella rendition of “Golden,” which appears on their latest album of the same name.

In addition to making us a cappella nerds geek out this morning, Lady Antebellum delights fans the world over as one of the most popular country pop acts in the world. Formed in 2006, this country trio performed at local Nashville venues before being signed just one year after they started the group. Shortly thereafter, they released their self-titled, debut album Lady Antebellum. The album itself debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart. Its first single, “Love Don’t Live Here,” quickly reached #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart, and another song from their album, “Never Alone,” became the theme song for MTV series The Hills.

Their second studio album, Need You Now, was another huge success for the group, not only in the country scene, but also in the mainstream. That same year they were asked to perform the National Anthem during Game 2 of the World Series and by 2011 they were awarded five (yes, count ‘em, five) Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

This week, they released their latest LP, Golden. We were elated to see them roaming the hallways of VH1, and even more impressed with their impressive a cappella skills. We can’t get enough of Lady Antebellum and we know you can’t either, that’s why they’re the latest group to get The Scoop treatment. From their biggest influence to the one thing they cannot tour without, find out the nine things you never knew about Lady Antebellum!
