If you like Queens Of The Stone Age…
For the slightly harder rockers, there are a number of acts that should satisfy the need to thrash.
Friday gets started with the female rock duo, Deap Vally, at 1:30 pm. The group has a vibe similar to The White Stripes’ heavier stuff. At 2:15, the head banging really gets going with the Swedish heavy metal band, Ghost B.C. If fans want some electronic sounds with a bite, they should head over to the Crystal Castles show at 4:15. Then it’s back to the Bud Light stage for back-t0-back performances by Queens Of The Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails all starting at 6:15.
Saturday is a lighter day for rock fans. Jordan Cook a.k.a. ReignWolf shreds the guitar at 2 pm. For a more classic rock-n-roll vibe similar to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix, fans should check out Lukas Nelson & P.O.T.R. at 3:20 at the BMI stage. If fans want to experiment with sound, they should check out the rap-noise duo Death Grips at 7:15.
The last day is more of a punk rock day with things kicking off with Palma Violets at 1 pm. Fans of The Clash will enjoy their set. The British vibe continues with Nightmare & The Cat at 2:10. Or fans can follow up Palma Violets with Alex Clare, who got a boost thanks to the Microsoft Internet Explorer ad. Then things get really heavy with Baroness at 4:30 on the Petrillo stage. Fans should plan to end the weekend with Goth-rock gods, The Cure, at 8 pm on the Red Bull Select stage.
