If you missed last night’s livestream of the very first You Oughta Know In Concert, don’t fret. The show will be premiering on VH1 on Thursday, November 21 at 9/8C, and in between now and then, we’ll be releasing videos and web exclusives from the show as soon as we can. Case in point: Last night’s show closed with an AMAZING set from The Lumineers, who debuted their new track from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, “Gale Song.”
Hunger Games fans will be able quickly identify that the track is about one of the film’s main characters, but the song still carries some significant emotional resonance even if you wouldn’t be able to point out Gale, Peeta or Katniss in a police lineup. “And there was a time / When I stood in line for love, for love, for love / But I let you go, oh, I let you go,” Lumineers lead singer Wesley Keith Schultz sings, a feeling that anyone who has ever yearned for a lost love can instantly relate to. Even those HG fans who are firmly on #TEAMPEETA can agree that the odds of this song becoming a big hit for The Lumineers are ever in their favor.
