It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for some of our favorite hip-hop and R&B songstresses! Just a week and some changed removed from K.Michelle’s wardrobe malfunction on stage, the one and only Lil’ Kim has apparently been victimized by an overly tight pair of red leather hot pants. (Warning: Pics in the gallery above are NSFW, aka Not Safe For Work.)
What better way to take a break from the holiday season than to escape into the world of art and music? Well we’ve got just the thing for you — Art Basel Miami Beach. Kicking off in just a week, Art Basel is a four day art fair where artists, curators and fans of art from around the world descend on Miami to explore art while having a big party.
What’s in a name? A whole bunch, that’s for sure! Even though it might not change one note of the music, a rock band’s name can be crucial to their success. Like changing the cover of a classic album, it’s pretty weird to think of an alternate musical universe where band’s went with their early choice for a name. Can you image running out to buy the latest hit record from Pen Cap Chew, Mookie Blaylock, or On A Friday? Well, that wasn’t far from reality!
You know that feeling when your belly is growling, you’re acting a crazy shade of cranky and you’d kill for a dang bar of chocolate? Yeah, that’s called hunger. Wait a minute… what did you think I was talking about?
Thanksgiving is just TWO days away, and the VH1 team has one thing on the mind: FOOD. Okay, and music too. Whether your favorite T-Day treat is sweet potato mash (and y’all know it’s gotta have that marshmallow topping deliciousness) or a perfectly basted leg o’ turkey, we know you love this foodie day as much as we do. Thus, in honor of this feast-ivity, we’ve created a list of our favorite bands and solo artists who have names inspired by food and the delightful process of munching and noshing. Eminem made the list of course, a closeted M&M’s candy junkie, or so we imagine thanks to his infamous name. Then there’s Iron & Wine, Chickenfoot and so many more. But I won’t give them away, I’ll let you sort through our menu. Heh, I mean… gallery. So grab a napkin and some utensils and check out 30 Musicians Who’ve Named Themselves After Food! It’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.
