“Will you ride around in that H town?”
Beyoncé and her hip-hop, rapping colleagues of
Girls’ Time Destiny’s Child were not the first notably music acts to come from the Bayou City. Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Bun B and Slim Thug all call Hustletown home, and ZZ Top first got its start in the Texan city.
For Beyoncé, Yonce headed home and recruited Wall, Bun B, Slim Thug, Chad Jr, Lil Keke, Kirko Bangz, Scarface, Willie D, Trae Tha Truth and Z-Ro for the “No Angel” video. “She wanted a real tribute to Houston, and my thing is really immersing myself in a location, opening my eyes to the more subtle beauty that exists in a place,” director @LILINTERNET told Noisey. “Accidental, innate, environmental beauty.”
As for the wardrobe, who doesn’t love James Harden? You know the drill by now: London speed it up, Houston rock it.
