VH1 Will Be Livestreaming A Concert From A Great Big World On January 16

VH1 is excited to announce that we’ll be livestreaming a concert from this month’s You Oughta Know artist, A Great Big World, next Thursday, January 16 right here on VH1.com. The New York-based two-piece, made up of college friends Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino, went from being unsigned artists to landing a #1 record (“Say Something”) during the course of the last 18 months or so, a whirlwind of activity by any measure.

As you’ll see in the video above, the band gained their first burst of momentum when they launched a Kickstarter campaign back in the summer of 2012 to try and raise $15,000 to hit the studio to record a few of their songs. Thanks to the support of their fans, they not only met but EXCEEDED their goal, and one of the songs that came out of this session (“This Is The New Year”) eventually caught the ear of the music supervisor of Glee. The rest, as they say, is history!

A Great Big World’s debut album, Is Anybody Out There?, will be hitting stores on Tuesday, January 21, and we’re proud to be bringing a concert by this dynamic new duo direct to you! Be sure to head over to agreatbigworld.vh1.com next Thursday night, January 16, for an exclusive livestream of their show taking place at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom.

Come back here to VH1 Music all month long for exclusive interviews and photographs of our newest You Oughta Know artists, A Great Big World!
