A Great Big World Live Out Their “Rockstar” Dreams Live In Concert

“Rockstar” is the first song on A Great Big World‘s new LP, and its lyrics hold the clues to the title the band chose for their debut album. The band performed this track, along with all of the other cuts that ended up on Is There Anybody Out There?—which, btw, drops tomorrow!—in front of a sold-out (and amped-up) audience at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom last week.

America knows the name A Great Big World thanks to their soaring ballad “Say Something,” which shot to #1 on the iTunes chart after one Christina Aguilera lent a vocal assist to Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino‘s original song. However, the You Oughta Know act’s new albums showcases their ability to play a number of different styles that run the gamut from propulsive piano pop (see: “Rockstar” above) to laugh out loud funny tracks like “Shorty Don’t Wait” (see below).

In case you missed last week’s livestream of A Great Big World’s concert at Manhattan’s Highline Ballroom, we shared a clip of their live performance of “Say Something” with you on Friday. And tomorrow, we’ll have clips for you of the song that earned them a record deal (“This Is The New Year”) and another great track from the album, “I Really Want It.” Enjoy!
