A Great Big World‘s debut album, Is There Anybody Out There?, just hit stores yesterday, but those of you who turned into VH1’s exclusive livestream of the band’s concert from New York City’s Highline Ballroom last week were lucky enough to get a special introduction to the material.

As this month’s You Oughta Know artist prepared for their show, our ace photographer Lauren Weissler was there trailing Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino. As you’ll see in the latest edition of VH1’s Music Seen photography series, there’s a lot more to putting together a concert than the band just rolling out on stage at showtime. From soundcheck to rehearsals to interviews, A Great Big World had put in a full five hours of work before they took the stage at 9 p.m., and VH1 was there to exclusively capture it all. Enjoy!
