Demi Lovato Leads The Pride Parade In “Really Don’t Care” Video

by (@sllambe)

Demi Lovato certainly knows how to show her spirit (and support of the LGBT community). The longtime gay advocate turns it up a notch in her new music video for “Really Don’t Care” featuring Cher Lloyd. Filmed during Los Angeles Pride, Lovato performs at the pride parade as one of the grand marshals. The video follows Lovato, her leather-clad dancers and 400,000 participants as they march the streets of LA. The infectiously happy song — a kiss-off to an ex-lover (and bullies alike) — gets a boost of joy thanks to all the excited faces, including famed blogger Perez Hilton and The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham, that pop up in the video.

But don’t take your eyes of the screen for one second or you’ll miss all the insanity of a gay pride parade. There are harnessed, moustached men, drag queens, bulges for days, the previously mentioned Hilton and Graham, former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and, yes, Wilmer Valderrama.

The premiere of the video comes ahead of her appearance at Logo’s Trailblazers ceremony — airing June 26 at 9 pm EST — where she made headlines by opening about her gay grandfather. “I’ve never spoken about this before, but my grandfather was a trailblazer himself,” Lovato said at the event honoring LGBTQ pioneers. “He was brave enough to come out in the 1960s, and I feel a lot of my spirit has come from him.”

If you can’t get enough of Lovato’s new single, then watch as she answers Twitter questions about making the music video, her favorite emojis and Cinderella.
