After I heard that Nora Ephron, the author, director and screenwriter behind When Harry Met Sally (arguably the best movie ever), had died, I went into that brief mourning period that we all go through now that it’s 2012 and we mourn via blog memorials and Facebook statuses. I found clips from Sleepless in Seattle I hadn’t watched in years, and I listened to “Coming Around Again,” the song that provided the soundtrack to Heartburn, the film Ephron wrote in response to her divorce from Carl Bernstein.

All week, VH1 has been rolling out the 100 Greatest Songs of The ’00s and tonight we finally made it to number one which is…(drumroll)…Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”! We’ve always maintained that this song is like a party?(and we’re all invited) so we think its place at #1 is well-deserved, but we want to know if you agree. Our distinguished panel certainly does — they can’t help but booty pop in their seats just talking about it.? Mob Wives star Drita D’avanzo puts it best though, when she says, “Beyonce and Jay-Z is like peanut butter and jelly, and you just want it.” After the jump,?check out the full list of the top 100 songs from the ’00s, and then make your way to the comments section to let us know if Beyonce is the best choice to sit at the top of our list.
The world lost a truly creative and brilliant mind yesterday when it was announced that Apple, Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs died at the age of 56. Though Jobs was not a traditional celebrity, he certainly had an impact on the lives of nearly everyone in recent years, and few people have not been changed by his creations and what he brought us. As a tribute, we wanted to share what some of our VH1 talent has been saying since the news of his passing was announced. R.I.P. Steve.
Basketball Wives star Shaunie O’Neal: RT @TheDailyLove: RIP Steve Jobs, we love you. Thank you for changing our world.
La La Vasquez: RIP Steve Jobs…praying for your family..thank YOU for all YOU’VE done to change our world and our way of thinking..
Jennifer Williams: RIP Steve Jobs…. Very very sad! He changed the technology world, definitely an innovator!
Heidi Montag: RT @RyanSeacrest “Have the courage to follow ur heart & intuition. They already know what u truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
Mob Wives‘ Carla Facciolo: RIP Steve Jobs.. Its a tragic loss for the technology world and the world in general :(
Dr. Drew: Steve Jobs made a difference in my life & the life of my family. RIP Our tribute from earlier tonight – ow.ly/6OSKc
Siggy Flicker, star of Why Am I Still Single?: A great man who left this world too soon! A visionary and a brilliant mind.
And finally, Bret Michaels wrote a lengthier, moving statement on his MySpace page: First I must express my deepest condolences to Steve’s wife Laurene, his family and friends. He showed great strength and perseverance through his illness and continued to be an innovator all the while remaining positive while fighting his battle with cancer. I can only thank Steve for his innovation, inspiration and creativity while touching all of our lives in some way shape or form. Again my condolences. He will be missed.

It’s not like we needed another reason to love Adele, but she gave us one anyway. During a recent show in Las Vegas, Adele revealed that her post-show routine involves watching Basketball Wives in her hotel room. We can totally get on board with that!
While bantering during a show at The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in Vegas, the singer told her fans “My band was out all night getting drunk, while I stayed in my room like a true rock star and watched Basketball Wives.” And for good reason — it was hard to pull away from that season three reunion, wasn’t it? We wonder if she plans to tune into Basketball Wives LA, too?

Earlier today we mentioned that Demi Lovato brought the house down during her performance at the 2011 Do Something! Awards, which were taped on Sunday night. Well, here’s a little teaser from that performance, including an introduction by Demi’s pal Kim Kardashian. It’s just a little snippet of what’s to come on Thursday night’s broadcast of the awards, but we’re getting chills anyway.
The Do Something! Awards air Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
To Single Ladies fans, Anthony Montgomery is a hated man. The actor plays the cold and calculating Darryl Jenkins, soon-to-be ex of April, a certified “nice guy” right up until he found out about April’s cheating ways. But the real Anthony Montgomery is nothing like Darryl, as I learned when we chatted the other day. Instead, he is chatty and playful and surprisingly funny. Another big surprise? The man has a rap career. Check out the video for his single, “Stimulation,” above, which will be featured on Monday’s episode of Single Ladies, and follow him on Twitter (@AMontgomery5) to stay informed about what he’s up to. (His goal is to hit one million followers, so let’s make this happen!)
For our full interview with the man everyone loves to hate, read on.
It’s so crazy to talk to you and not hear this mean, cold voice on the other end of the line!
[Laughs] Okay, look. Liz. Look. Darryl is a bit hurt. That’s all I can say. He is hurt. And instead of sitting there crying in a corner, he’s acting out.
Darryl just seems like such a stretch for you, you are nothing like him at all.
I am not! We all have aspects of him somewhere in us, but I make every realistic effort to not be that guy. It’s also because of the roles that I’ve played in my career, I’m always the nice guy, I’m always Darryl from the pilot, and every role I’ve played in Hollywood in the fifteen years I’ve been out here, I’ve always been the nice guy, the best friend, the “Why can’t every guy be like you?” guy, so for me, getting to play a role like this where I get to show a different tier to my acting abilities, it’s a thrill for me. I’ve got a throng of women across the country who love to hate me right now, it’s pretty funny. “Why are you being so mean to her?” And I’m like, she cheated with the Mayor! What are you talking about? Is everyone forgetting that?
Former *NSYNC-er Lance Bass mentioned to New York last night that he’s producing an amazing-sounding new boy-band reality competition show. Bass explained the concept, which he’s pitched to VH1, saying:
“It’s a really great music show, starring all your favorite boy bands. It’s going to be really fun. I got a member from Backstreet Boys, A.J. McLean. A member from *NSYNC, Joey Fatone. A member from New Kids on the Block, Joe McIntyre. And a member from New Edition, Bobby Brown. They’re all going to form a boy band, each, from the most talented guys in America that I’ve scouted, and then they’ll go head-to-head in a competition to see who the best band is, so it’s bragging rights for the guy in the group, for sure.”
Bass said later that Brown wasn’t totally confirmed for the show, but he’s working on that. “I think Bobby will do it,” he said.
UPDATE: VH1 could not confirm the show at this time, but a rep for the network explained “VH1 is talking to Lance Bass as well as a lot of other big names in the music and pop culture arenas about a lot of great ideas for new series.”
