Mandy Moore‘s all grown up, and she wants you to know it. In anticipation of her June 19th release Wild Hope, a single from Moore’s latest effort was included in the Museum of Sex’s goodie bags, right next to a vibrator and a book on being a dominant diva. But the bizarre promotional move might fit with Moore’s mature new image. She’s made no secret of her disdain for her "Candy"-era image, and she’s left behind record labels for EMI and more autonomy. Moore also penned much of the songs on this album, meaning she’s responsible for lyrics like "I?m the one who likes Gardenia/I?m the one who likes to make love on the floor." Maybe the Museum of Sex wasn’t such a bad fit after all…

Unceremoniously dismissed Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray is selling the six gold and platinum plaques he received with the band on eBay. Gray explained the decision as "just kinda cleanin’ house a little bit." Since management asked Gray to leave the band, along with guitarist John Lecompt, on May 5, Gray has been tight-lipped about his departure. Potential bidders will be happy to know that Gray, a.k.a. biggcrazy, has yet to receive any bids on the plaques (reserve price $500), though the transaction might be sketchy, as he’s yet to receive any feedback. In other Evanescence news, the band will continue touring with two new members formerly of Dark New Day, Troy McLawhorn and Will Hunt.
In addition to feeling inappropriately about his daughters, pop svengali Joe Simpson has professed his love for Jessica‘s new man, John Mayer. "I want her to be happy. I’m always a fan of his. I love him; he’s got great music," Simpson told People. Explaining the secret to what makes their relationship work, Simpson cites the lack of competition: "He’s a guitarist; that’s his thing. Jessica is a singer. She doesn’t play guitar, so there’s no competition." In other Simpson sib news, Ashlee‘s going into the studio with ubiquitous producer Timbaland, the other guy from the Neptunes who’s not Pharell, Chad Hugo, and John Legend. Ash is going for a more "soulful" sound on this album, so that means no power-pop proclaiming she "didn’t steal your boyfriend." Cryptically, though, Ash predicts, "I’ll probably have my heart broken and then end up with one of those kinds of songs on there." Is there trouble in paradise with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz?
Add clothing to the lengthy list of things Avril Lavigne doesn’t like. (Already on there? Paparazzi, Britney Spears, you.) Demonstrating the maturity marriage and her new disc have ushered in, Blender‘s June covergirl posed for the cover topless, with the mag’s coverlines protecting her modesty. Inside shots show Av’s aversion to shirts, as well as her penchant for smoking and drinking. And the kicker? Avril shares in an online interview that it was all her idea.
Kelly Clarkson‘s My December has hit major icebergs in its quest for release. As was previously reported, the American Idol’s third record met an icy reception from label boss Clive Davis, and now Clarkson’s spilling the beans. Initially insulted that her label wanted her to use songwriters, the final affront came in the form of a Lindsay Lohan track: "My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album. And while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I’m cool with her and I think she sings the song well… it’s already been on an album." Clarkson continued, "I just don’t like working with someone that gives you a song and is like, ‘Oh, I wrote this for you.’ But you find out that they’ve given it to every other artist and they turned it down, you know?" Could Clarkson be referring to her nuclear hit "Since U Been Gone," written by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, and shopped around to other pop stars before Clarkson’s recording? According to a source, Clarkson didn’t even want to include it on the album.
In one brief MySpace entry, ska-pop princess Lily Allen reignited her war with fellow Brit Amy Winehouse and addressed the pressure she feels to be thin in the body-obsessed entertainment industry. Writing from "a sea of tears from my hotel bed in Seattle," the "Smile" singer tells fans she "spent the past hour researching gastric bypass surgery, and laser lipo suction." [sic] Allen’s MySpace confessional comes just weeks after cancelling nearly all of her tour dates due to feeling "tired." She has four remaining shows.
Is Lily days away from a full-scale meltdown?
Former Fugee and famed recluse Lauryn Hill will play three shows in England this summer, much to the surprise of pretty much everyone. After intermittent rumblings of a Fugees reunion, and the rather disappointing fruits of those rumors, little has been heard from Hill since she released her nearly flawless solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1998. Between her 2002 Unplugged session and a brief stop at Joss Stone‘s Bahamian recording compound this past year to lend some help (and cred), Lauryn’s been all but disappeared. Which is why we’re so excited about her return from artistic exile!

How much would you pay to catch someone who hit you with a water balloon? If you’re a rap superstar, then it might be worth $50,000 to you.
During a recent concert at Bentley College, T.I. was hit with a water balloon (watch video above). After getting played, the Atlanta MC stops the music and lays a verbal smackdown on the crowd. Then T.I. offers 50 large to anyone willing to pull an anti-Cam’ron and snitch out the offender so the rapper can, uh, talk to him.
No word on whether the offending prankster was ever caught. So if you go to Bentley, beware; the Deadeye Dick (or Jane) might still be prankin’ it up on your premises.
In other T.I. news, another cut from his upcoming album T.I. vs. T.I.P. has leaked to the ‘net. It features Wyclef Jean. Listen here, snitches.
After his infamous anti-snitching interview on 60 Minutes, the world knows how ridiculously much loyalty means to Cam’ron. But do his closest friends even have the Dipset head honcho’s back?
In an interview with Hot 97’s Miss Info, Dipset rapper Jim Jones (left) said that he hasn’t spoken with Cam’ron in a year and considers their friendship to be more of a burden than a blessing. "I’m through (with) being in hot water because of (Cam’ron)," Jones is quoted as saying on Miss Info’s blog. "I kept quiet out of loyalty … But now I can’t be next to you."
My Chemical Romance and Muse were forced to cancel their world tour after a violent bout with food poisoning effected several members of the crew and both bands. The tour, which is booked through July and spans three continents, came to a screeching halt after a show at William and Mary College in Virginia left crew members scattered in hospitals "between State College, PA and Columbus, OH." Immune to fears of death and despair, only to be brought low by craft services. This comes on the heels of MCR lead singer Gerard Way announcing he’s "the happiest brother alive" after his brother Mikey decided to temporarily leave the band to spend more time with his wife and "do all of the things a newlywed couple should do." This is the second time Way has taken a break, the first during the recording process of The Black Parade due to severe depression and drug and alcohol problems.
