Welcome to the second week of VH1’s Battle of the Summer Jams. Over the next few months, we’ll determine the best songs of summer with your help. Each week two singles will battle it out and it’s up to you to decide which one reigns supreme. Last week it was the battle of the Pharrells. With 52 percent of the vote, “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk took home the first round. This week we are putting the hashtag songs to the test. That’s right, “#Beautiful” by Mariah Carey and Miguel is going up against “#ThatPower” by Will.I.Am and Justin Bieber.

Summer is finally here! And now it’s time to start determining the playlist for the next three months. But we need your help in figuring out what songs will define the summer. Each week we’ll have two singles battle it out. It’s up to you to determine which you want to be listening to between now and August. Up first is a battle of the Pharrells. The producer/singer is featured on two jams burning up the charts: Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines.” Familiarize yourself with each song and let us know which one will reign supreme.

Maybe it’s pregnant Kim Kardashian. Maybe it’s the thought of a future wedding with said Kardashian. Maybe it’s just all the pressure of a baby coming with the task of finishing an album and going on tour and attending the Met Gala and scraping his car against Kardashian’s house gate and bumping his head into a sign and losing faith in humanity. Or maybe Kanye West is sad for no reason. Either way, he needs to cheer up and take his Debbie Downer face somewhere else. Just kidding. Or am I?
