From the very beginnings (“Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg”) when the network just found its footing and become the go-to network as a way to discover new music to the height of music videos (“Waterfalls”) when budgets went through the rough as did the special effects and scale and finally, to a time (“No Scrubs”) when T.R.L. controlled what was hot and what was not. As we continue to enjoy TLC Week here at VH1, we can help but get sucked by into the ’90s, when R&B was at its finest. From the early years of new jack swing to the house style that took over in the mid ’90s, the undercurrent of neo soul and the futuristic pop sounds that closed out the decade. But most importantly, ’90s R&B was the decade of the girl group. TLC was one of several groups that blew up nearly 20 years ago, helping to shape the music of our childhood. Everyone one from 702 to Brownstone and Jade to Xscape gave us something to remember.

Paris Hilton Is Ready To Have ‘Good Time’ On New Album

It’s been seven years since Paris Hilton first released “Stars Are Blind” and now the singer is back! After signing with Cash Money Records in May, Hilton returned to the studio to work on her forthcoming album, which she says is all about having a good time. “It’s music you want to party to,” Hilton says. “Just really happy, upbeat music.”

Hilton also explains how her new label, which is home to Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj, influenced her sound. Her first album had a pop feel and this time she utilized house and hip hop beats, giving her new album an urban edge.
