Scandalist Predicts the Grammys. You, Too?

Will it be Adele over Duffy for “Best Female Pop Vocal”? How about T.I. over Lil Wayne for “Best Rap Album”? And there can’t be any way that Robert Plant & Alison Krauss would trump Wayne for “Album Of the Year,” can there? One final question: are the Jonas Brothers 2008′s Best New Artists?

With the Grammys only a day away, everyone’s making their predictions. Our buds at Scandalist weighed in with their own photo gallery list of who’s going to win. Check it out, and offer your own opinion on who’s going to triumph in some of these categories.

Grammys: Fogeys, Brits, and Effed-Up Fashion

Our pals at Scandalist have been scrounging around Grammyville, reminding us of a few oddities that have taken place with the big show over the years.

Like: When there are several youngster nominees and only one oldster nominee, the wrinkled guy has a decent shot because the new kids kind a cancel each other out.

Like: The Record of the Year category has a wealth of Brit nominees this year.

Like: The fashions worn by the nominees and winners in 1999 are pretty damn funny to glance at these days.

Jump into the site and check their explanations for all these twists. Scandalist is posting on this year’s Grammys show every day this week.

And while we’re on the subject, did you know that overzealous guitar whiz Joe Satriani has abandoned his legal ambush of Coldplay the night of the show? And did you know that the tatooed love boys of Blink 182 are reuniting to spend some quality time together on Sunday? And did you know that chart queen Taylor Swift loves to talk about her childhood?

PS: Country Music Television is premiering Ms Swift’s new video for “White Horse” this Saturday.

Write Romantic Comments, Win a Mariah iPod!

There are lots of pop music fans who feel warm and fuzzy (and maybe a little hot and horny) when Mariah Carey launches into one of her trademark romance tunes. Valentine’s Day is a perfect time of year to celebrate this part of Mimi’s songbook, and her new Ballads disc does just that – it’s a CD full of the singer’s sexiest and heartwarming tunes.

To celebrate, we’re streaming the entire disc for the next two weeks, and we’ve got lots of cool Mariah items to give away to those who are also feeling ultra romantic. Want to win a Mariah-branded iPod Nano, a complete set of her CDs on the Sony label, a deluxe edition of The Ballads (which includes a sample of her Luscious Pink fragrance), and an autographed photo? Well, jump into our Mariah Carey: One Sweet Day sweepstakes by reading the Official Rules, and then write some romantic Valentine’s Day wish or greeting in our comments section below.

They could be to your current love, an old flame, a horrible ex, or a wonderful new partner. If they have something to do with Mariah‘s music as well,? all the better. The comments must be 50 words or less.

We’ll draw randomly from all the submissions, and the winner will be announced on February 18th. The cut-off for submissions is February 16 at noon ET.

This interview right here should explain it all.? If you read it, you’ll also learn where he lost his virginity.
