The Northside Festival kicked off in Brooklyn earlier this week covering the best in new Film, Innovation and Music. VH1 and Palladia are teaming up to host four nights of live music for the festival. The first two nights were Thursday and Friday, hosted at Williamsburg’s famous venue The Knitting Factory. On Thursday there were live performances by rising rock band out of the UK Syd Arthur, plus winning Make A Band Famous act Fancy Reagan and many others. Then on Friday, legendary music producer and new member of the VH1 family Linda Perry curated a special showcase featuring her own favorite emerging artists like Perfect Pussy, Shilpa Ray and more. Last night VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz came to a close. The six night concert series bounced from borough to borough, night after night counting down to Super Bowl XLVIII. J. Cole, Fall Out Boy, and TLC were just three of the acts that came out to hype us up for the Big Game and create some memorable music moments along the way.
Gavin DeGraw stormed Montclair, New Jersey for VH1’s last night of Super Bowl Blitz. The two time Grammy nominated singer and songwriter was the final act in our jam packed six night concert series. A marching band kicked the festivities off and Gavin opened with his single, “In Love With A Girl.”
All week long, VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz has been gearing us up for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVIII. The six night concert series stopped off in Brooklyn on Wednesday night to feature rock band Fall Out Boy. The band surprised the Brooklyn Bowl crowd when they brought out Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams to join them for their hit song, “Sugar, We’re Going Down.” We caught up with Pete Wentz and Hayley backstage to ask them about music and of course, football.
VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz has been going strong all week long as musicians, J. Cole, Janelle Monáe, Fall Out Boy and TLC have brought their talents and high spirits to boroughs all over New York. The energy has been palpable and day five of our epic concert series was no different. Buffalo natives, the Goo Goo Dolls stormed Staten Island and brought the crowd to their feet for the entire 12-song jam session.
Super Bowl Sunday is days away and VH1 has been gearing up for the main event all week with an epic six night concert series.
