In anticipation of their fourth studio album No Sound Without Silence, The Script premiered their music video for “Superheroes” last week on VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown. VH1, MTV + Pepsi are teaming up this summer to give you the chance to unlock some of Ariana Grande‘s favorite stuff from her new album My Everything. This little powerhouse has been blowing up the charts lately and wants to send you some of her favorite lyrics off her new studio album. All you have to do is tweet at us!
This month’s You Oughta Know artists Bleachers are known for their over-the-top sound and larger-than-life stage presence. Well, for our 60 second Stop/Watch challenge, Jack Antonoff gave us a stripped down version of the popular Bleachers hit “I Wanna Get Better”, and it proves the rule that sometimes less is MORE!
It’s no surprise that some stars are better known to the world by their stage names. But you’ll be amazed at just how many music artists aren’t who you think they are! There sure are a lot of “Hannah Montana’s” out there. Heck, even Hannah Montana‘s “real” name isn’t her real name. That’s right: Miley Cyrus is not her birth name. Mind blown.

One minute. A complete song. This is our Stop/Watch challenge. We grab the greatest names in music and ask them to perform their biggest hit in a matter of a minute. Some falter when they step onto our stage, but others soar. Avery*Sunshine is one who took the challenge like a champ and sang her song “Call My Name” in 20 seconds flat. You go girl!
In the Stop/Watch challenge, bands have to race against the clock to perform their hit song in 60 seconds or less. With that kind of pressure, only the best of the best make it through with their tune intact. Newcomer London Grammar didn’t blink twice when we dared them perform their award-winning song “Strong” in just a minute. Spoiler alert: they absolutely killed it!
We’ve had some amazing talent on Stop/Watch, but our favorites are those who pour their heart and soul into those 60 seconds. It can be tough trying to squeeze an entire song into a single minute, but the best bands take their familiar sounds and throw a crazy twist on it. Well, Rixton just made our list of the best artists on Stop/Watch.
“Habits (Stay High)” is July You Oughta Know artist Tove Lo’s newest single to hit the U.S. The song is all about making and living with bad choices. So we sat down with Tove Lo to get to know her a little better in a Speed Interview. Turns out her worst habit is falling asleep in the tub when she’s drunk.
