You Oughta Know Alum A Great Big World Take Toyota For A Spin

On a recent trip to Los Angeles, Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino of the band A Great Big World took a spin downtown to visit the most inspiring places L.A. has to offer. With the help of Toyota, the group made stops at L.A.’s Chinatown to grab some food, walked the L.A. River (made famous by the movie Grease), and ended at the Orpheum Theater, the gorgeous restored movie palace.

It’s no surprise that some stars are better known to the world by their stage names. But you’ll be amazed at just how many music artists aren’t who you think they are! There sure are a lot of “Hannah Montana’s” out there. Heck, even Hannah Montana‘s “real” name isn’t her real name. That’s right: Miley Cyrus is not her birth name. Mind blown.

Some music industry monikers just scream stage name, like Lady Gaga, P!nk, and Busta Rhymes. But who knew that John Legend, Bob Dylan, and Calvin Harris all use fake names?

STOP/WATCH: Fall In Love With Syd Arthur’s “Hometown Blues” in 60 Seconds

Chill Out With The Soulful Stylings Of YOK Artist Avery*Sunshine’s STOP/WATCH Performance


One minute. A complete song. This is our Stop/Watch challenge. We grab the greatest names in music and ask them to perform their biggest hit in a matter of a minute. Some falter when they step onto our stage, but others soar. Avery*Sunshine is one who took the challenge like a champ and sang her song “Call My Name” in 20 seconds flat. You go girl!

STOP/WATCH: London Grammar Tries Their Hand At Our 60 Second Challenge

In the Stop/Watch challenge, bands have to race against the clock to perform their hit song in 60 seconds or less. With that kind of pressure, only the best of the best make it through with their tune intact. Newcomer London Grammar didn’t blink twice when we dared them perform their award-winning song “Strong” in just a minute. Spoiler alert: they absolutely killed it!
