K.Michelle is currently best known as one of the hilariously volatile stars of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, but if early word about her fierce new LP Rebellious Soul is any indication, she’s on the verge of becoming one of the biggest stars that R&B and soul music has to offer.
Even Alanis Morrissette would agree that there are few things more ironic than the fact that America’s foremost twerking enthusiast, Miley Cyrus, completely lacks an ass. To Miley’s credit, though, it appears as if she’s attempting to learn from the best by serving as an apprentice to our nation’s boss of bouncy butts, Nicki Minaj.
R&B stars Tweet, Avant, Donell Jones and Erica Campbell take center stage at Summerstage on August 4, 2013.
R&B music has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence as of late thanks to artists like Donell Jones, Raheem DeVaughn, Avant, Lyfe Jennings, Monifah, and Erica Campbell, who came together Sunday, August 4th at the Central Park Summerstage to perform in the WBLS R&B Fest. And what a show it was!
Is there anyone out there having a better year than one Robin Thicke? His collabo with Pharrell and T.I., “Blurred Lines,” is undoubtedly the biggest smash of the year, and his new album is poised for a huge debut when next week’s SoundScan figures get released.
Robin spent some time in New York City recently, and VH1′s ace photographer Lauren Weissler trailed him for a few days while he did some interviews here at VH1 headquarters and performed for an iHeartRadio Live performance. We’ve collected the shots of the heartthrob for you in the latest entry in our ongoing Music Seen series.
They make girls scream, guys invest in styling product, and the whole world attempt awkward choreo (cue the “Bye Bye Bye” wave thingie). Boy bands are righteous! But most of them cannot dress, let’s be clear. In a summer where they’re hotter than ever — One Direction, 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men, and New Kids on the Block are all on tour — let’s have a giggle at the fifteen most ridic guy-group ensembles ever, shall we?

Hunter Hayes is one of the most exciting new voices to emerge in today’s contemporary country music scene. How do we know? Well, we’ve seen him display his considerable talents on a few different occasions now, including the 2013 Grammy Awards, last week’s Philly Jam, and his Artist To Watch showcase set at New York City’s Webster Hall late last month. The latter concert was livestreamed by our friends over at MTV —you can catch the entire Hunter Hayes: Artist To Watch showcase here— and we sent our ace photographer Lauren Weissler to the show to capture the scene for the latest entry in our ongoing Music Seen series.
We’ve been patiently waiting for this day for nearly two-and-a-half years, and now we can rejoice that Ciara’s fifth studio album—the self-titled Ciara—is finally available. Singles like “Body Party” and “I’m Out (feat. Nicki Minaj)” have already gotten everyone around the VH1 offices amped, and we’re fully expecting to hear the rest of the album blaring from computer speakers in the hallway for the rest of the week (and month and year!).
Once we saw the cover of the album, in which we see a mirrored Ciara showing off her legendary abs, we knew that there was only one way to celebrate release day — a mega-gallery of CiCi’s Top 50 Midriff Moments! Let’s talk a walk down memory lane and see Ciara showing off her taut tummy through the years, from her first record release party way back in 2004 to the BET Awards just last month.

If you’re anything like us, you’re spending your Monday morning shaking the cobwebs off after a long holiday weekend of beaching and barbecuing. As you mentally steel yourself for the upcoming work week ahead, we thought we’d indulge you with 10 gorgeous shots of a bikini-clad Rihanna, who is currently working/vacationing/partying in Poland. Yes, we said Poland! (We didn’t know that they had beaches like that there, either.) Baltic Sea, represent!

The stars (and stripes) came out in full force last night and celebrated Independence Day in Philadelphia with half a million of their closest fans. The Roots, Grace Potter, J. Cole, John Mayer and more rocked the Philly Jam stage for three hours. Our stellar photographer Lauren Weissler was front row and caught all of the action. Check it out!
