VH1 DIVAS: Demi Lovato’s Anthemic “Give Your Heart A Break” Gets The Crowd Jumping (VIDEO)

Because, baby, Demi Lovato is definitely not like the rest. Tonight, the X Factor judge took to the stage to show off her her own set of pipes with a show stopping performance of “Give Your Heart A Break,” her current single. As far as we’re concerned, this song has been criminally overlooked because, really, shouldn’t everyone have a heart wrenching anthem so genuine and assured — and that’s to say nothing of how danceable it is — ever ready on hand?

Demi hit the VH1 DIVAS red carpet earlier wearing a Top Shop studded leather jacket and a pair of skyscraping YSL heels, with her diva-tude primed and ready to rock. And when she hit the stage a few minutes ago, sing she did, filling LA’s Shrine Auditorium all the rafters and beyond. And because tonight’s supposed to be a dance party, they pumped up the skittering drumline and a little extra-umph. Lovatics, eat your heart out!

VH1 DIVAS: Ciara Pays Tribute To MJ With Her “Billie Jean/Got Me Good” Medley (VIDEO)

We’re only like 25 minutes into VH1 DIVAS 2012 and we’ve already witnessed three jaw-dropping moments. Of course, Adam Lambert rocked the house with his show opening performance of “Let’s Dance,” then the newly engaged Kelly Clarkson brought the house down with her stirring rendition of “Catch My Breath,” but OMG, Ciara just TORE! IT! UP! with her medley of “Billie Jean” and her new single, “Got Me Good.”

When we first saw the video for “Got Me Good” back in October, our own Bené Viera noted that Ciara “channeled a little bit of Usher, MJ and Aaliyah” in her video. So when a little birdie told us earlier this week that VH1 DIVAS would feature Ciara a Michael Jackson song, we immediately began running through the possibilities of what iconic MJ dances this stunningly gifted dancer would do. And, well, as you just saw, that song turned out to be “Billie Jean”! #SPEECHLESS

VH1 DIVAS: Kelly Clarkson Celebrates Her Engagement With Lively Performance Of “Catch My Breath” (VIDEO)

What a weekend it’s turning out to be for VH1 DIVAS performer Kelly Clarkson! Yesterday, she revealed on Twitter that her BF of over one year, Brandon Blackstock, had just popped the question (and, we should mention, gave her a gorgeous yellow canary diamond ring).

Being the all-around pro that she is, she then headed over to rehearsals for VH1 DIVAS, where she wowed the room with a stunning rendition of her new song “Catch My Breath,” the lead single off her new collection, Greatest Hits: Chapter One. After getting some much needed rest overnight, she just turned in an AMAZING performance of “Catch My Breath,” one that’s already receiving rapturous raves on Twitter and nearly brought the house down at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Moments before heading out on stage in a stunning black, red and green gown, she shared a warm, backstage hug with her American Idol compatriot Adam Lambert.

This was Kelly’s third time performing on VH1 DIVAS; she first appeared on our 2009 show, and then she also lent her outstanding vocal chops to last year’s VH1 DIVAS Celebrates Soul show. We’re super thrilled that she was able to make the time to perform on the show again this year, and we really hope that we can get her to agree to perform at next year’s show, too (and the one after that, and the one after that, too…).

VH1 DIVAS: Adam Lambert Gets The Party Started With A Cover Of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” (VIDEO)

And we’re off! VH1 DIVAS 2012 just got started with a dynamic performance from none other than Adam Lambert, who is also serving as host/DIVA-in-training for tonight’s festivities. We saw him perform the David Bowie classic “Let’s Dance” a few times this weekend during rehearsals, and as great as those moments were, Adam is one of those rare artists who has the ability to raise their game up another notch when the cameras start rolling and the stage lights shine down on them. Of course, this is something that we’ve known about Lambert since his American Idol days, but we have a feeling that between this performance, his role in the Donna Summer Tribute later tonight, his upcoming cover of a Madonna song, and the incredible comedic timing he’ll be putting on display tonight, this is going to be a #NEXTLEVEL night for Adam and his posse of devoted Glamberts. VH1 DIVAS Rehearsals Recap Part 2: Adam Lambert Glitters Softly, Carries A Big Stick

Less than an hour until Adam Lambert will hit the stage as host and performer extraordinaire for tonight’s VH1 DIVAS. Can’t wait that long? Check out exclusive photos from the restricted set. Day two of rehearsals was all about Adam who practiced his solo numbers (yes plural) plus his amazing collaboration with Keri Hilson and Kelly Rowland in tribute for Donna Summer. After hearing and seeing the voices that I heard meld together over a remix to her greatest hits, I don’t doubt somewhere the Disco Queen is singing “I feel loved, I feel loved, I feel…” You get the picture.

GIF Wall: VH1 DIVAS Show Off Their Dance Moves Backstage

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to dance. And it looks like this years’ VH1 Divas theme isn’t just getting to me. All weekend long our performers have been showing us their go-to dance moves, so we put them in a GIF wall (the only appropriate place). Looks like Adam Lambert‘s head-snapping ways are contagious.

Keri Hilson did the hustle, Iggy Azalea did the Macarena, and Jordin Sparks twerks…well, in private, she says. For us she did the salsa while Ledisi did the cabbage patch, Natasha Bedingfield showed us a sexy hip wiggle and Melanie Fiona made up what she calls her “itchy dress dance.” Check them all out below and let’s see if any of these moves make it into the show at 9PM ET/8C.

VH1 DIVAS Host Adam Lambert Looks To Real Housewives Star NeNe Leakes For Advice (VIDEO)

There are only a few more hours to wait until this year’s VH1 DIVAS —the one-hour red carpet livestream starts on divas.vh1.com at 8 p.m. ET/7C, while the show itself will begin at 9 p.m. ET/8C— but we just got our hands on a bit of tonight’s opening sketch. In it, host and DIVA-in-training Adam Lambert consults Real Housewives star NeNe Leakes (who knows a thing or two herself about being a DIVA) to get her advice about hosting such a star-studded event. Before their conversation can get going, though, a stylist interrupts their conversation and, well, you’ll have to watch the video above to find out what happens!

DJ Havana Brown Tests Her VH1 DIVAS Music Know-How

To be a good DJ, you’ve got to have a memory as deep as your music library full of past, present and wanna be hits to play for your crowd. So, VH1 Divas house DJ Havana Brown will have to put those recollection skills to the test for her in-between-performances sets. We caught up with the Australian (and gorgeous!) turntable master after rehearsals and gave her a pop quiz on recognizing the music of tonight’s performers.

How’d she do? Well, she tried to cheat at first but we got switched it up on her and she earned her cred the old fashioned way. Check it out below along with behind-the-scenes pics we snapped as a preview of her set and watch Havana mix it up live on Divas at 9PM/8C.

Kelly Clarkson’s Beau Puts A Ring On It Right Before VH1 DIVAS Rehearsal

VH1 DIVAS performer Kelly Clarkson is engaged to her boyfriend of a year, Brandon Blackstock. She announced the news at Twitter early yesterday then promptly showed up to rehearsals where we all oooo’d and ahhhh’d over her new jewelry. Believe me when I say it is more gorgeous in person than the photo of the canary diamond Kelly tweeted afterward! Looks like Reba McEntire‘s step-son knows how to make sure a girl won’t “Walk Away.”

Watch Kelly’s “Catch My Breath” performance tonight live at 9PM/8C, while we try to keep from passing out over the size of that ring. Congrats, Kelly!
