We don’t remember what we got for our 22nd birthday, but we’re definitely wasn’t as cool as Shehnaz Kahn’s present this year. The student was down in front at Birmingham UK’s LG Arena for Beyonce‘s Mrs. Carter World Tour, which is already wayyyy better than any bday we’ve ever had. But Queen Bey had something even more special up her sleeve. She stopped in the middle of the concert sing “Happy Birthday,” to the breathless fan, who got it all on video!
It always hits fans hard when they lose beloved music artists, especially when the deaths come unexpectedly. Fortunately, artists have troves of tunes fans can sift through to remind them of the hits they love. But when we all can rally around new releases after the artists have passed away, there are times when we tend to flock to those final bits of music.
Queen Beyonce channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe at the 2014 BRIT Awards yesterday, where she took to the stage in a stunning dark-blue outfitto deliver the live debut of her anthemic single, “XO.” The 32-year-old kept her supporters close to her heart as she launched into the performance, saying “I’d like to dedicate this song to my incredible fans. I love y’all.”
Algebra Blessett sure knows a thing or two about love. You know, the hopes and hurts, regrets and revelations of love — and she sings about it all on her sophomore release, Recovery. In fact, virtually every song on the Atlanta native’s new album addresses that complicated four-letter word in some fashion, and from some perspective.
Now that 2014 is in full swing, Mariah Carey is trying to find her way to the top of the charts following the success of “#Beautiful,” which was meant to erase the distant memory of “Triumphant (Get ‘Em),” which nearly erased all the good faith “Touch My Body” and “Obsessed” earned the singer when she finally landed back on top of the charts thanks to “We Belong Together.” If you’re noticing a pattern, it’s that nearly every single has been a hit-or-miss attempt to get back to the heyday of Carey’s pre-Glitter days. With “You’re Mine (Eternal)” up to bat, we wanted to look back on all of the ‘comeback’ singles that came before it.
Although Moroccan and Monroe are Mariah Carey’s pride and joy they are not the first twins that have brought joy to her life. Her other twins have made headlines this past week after images of her 2014 BET Honors performance made the rounds. It was quite clear that Mariah was still proud of her fist set of twins: her boobs! Every time we watched Nick Cannon MC our Super Bowl Blitz concert series, we couldn’t help but think “Damn, that lucky dude is married to Mariah Carey!” And now we find ourselves feeling that way yet again, since Mimi took to her Instagram to show off her vacation photos (and incredible physique!). Days before she also shared an equally revealing throw-back LaChapelle portrait from the early 2000s…Thus proving that the Diva’s fabulocity (is that a word?) definitely doesn’t diminish with time!
