You Oughta Know alums Sam Smith and Hozier both saw a great amount of success on the Billboard charts last year. So it only makes sense that the two artists, along with Nick Jonas, have been added to the list of performers at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
We all have to start from somewhere, and for Hozier that somewhere was Trinity College back in his native Ireland. Before he was a VH1 You Oughta Know artist, or taking folks to church with his Grammy nominated single, Andrew Hozier-Byrne was a member of Trinity Orchestra—Ireland’s only orchestra entirely ran by students. Back in 2012 —clean-shaven and sans ponytail— Hozier sang lead on the orchestra’s performance of Pink Floyd’s classic album, The Dark Side Of The Moon.
Sam Smith experiences all of the feels all of the time. So it’s no surprise that Smith was moved to tears by You Oughta Know artist Tori Kelly‘s show-stopping voice when she opened for him on his In the Lonely Hour Tour.
Sam Smith has been kicking your ass in the health game and you didn’t even know it. Smith lost 14 pounds over the past two weeks, according to People, which is the same weight as, like, a baby and a half. Or, to use the metric measurement and Sam Smith’s words, it’s “over a stone.”
We could tell you that Echosmith is based out of LA, composed of four siblings, or that their single “Bright” is a stroke of genius (watch below), but you all know that by now. So instead of spending more time on what you know, we want to share with you what you ought to know about the indie pop band.
