You Oughta Know In Concert: JOHNNYSWIM Lets Their Love Shine Through

No two You Oughta Know artists are more in love than Amanda Sudano-Ramirez and Abner Ramirez of JOHNNYSWIM. The duo’s passion could be seen on stage as they performed “Heart Beats” and their new single, “Diamonds.” Sudano’s raspy voice sounded haunting as she tore through “Heart Beats.” But even that couldn’t distract from the love the two had for each other while on stage. At one point, the two turned to each other and it was clear that this what they were brought together to do.

You Oughta Know In Concert: Ed Sheeran Infuses “Grade 8″ With Some Lil Kim

The last 18 months have been very good to Ed Sheeran. Since being named a You Oughta Know artist in May 2012, Ed has gone on to perform at the London Olympic games, receive a Song of the Year nomination at the Grammy Awards (for “The A Team”), and tour the country with Taylor Swift. Not too shabby. Despite his busy schedule, Ed was still able to carve out some time for a You Oughta Know In Concert performance that astonished us all.

You Oughta Know In Concert: Lorde Shows Us Why She’s Queen Bee

Lorde has risen to the ranks of pop royalty in these last few months with her uber-catchy single “Royals,” and her performance at You Oughta Know In Concert proves that she’s no pretender to the throne! The 17-year-old New Zealander held her own among the senior singers, making her four-song set an undisputed highlight of the high-octane evening. You Oughta Know In Concert: Matt Nathanson Is On The Lookout For The Girl In The “Kinks Shirt”

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Matt Nathanson was the MVP of the first ever You Oughta Know In Concert special, as he and his band played in eight, count ‘em, 8 songs for the adoring audience. Nathanson is the longest-tenured You Oughta Know artist of anyone on tonight’s bill, and he proved to be the most versatile of the bunch, too, performing 4 songs of original material, leading the way on three dynamic covers, and singing along to the all-star jam of “Ho Hey” led by The Lumineers.

You Oughta Know In Concert: Emeli Sande Takes The Crowd To “Heaven”

Emeli Sandé got the first ever You Oughta Know In Concert special started off on an extremely energetic foot tonight, performing four songs that appear on her debut album Our Version Of Events. Two of those songs, “Next To Me” and “My Kind Of Love,” just appeared on your television screen, but those of us who were lucky enough to be in attendance when this show was recorded were treated to an especially rockin’ version of “Heaven,” which we have for you above.

You Oughta Know Alumni Delta Rae Are Out “Chasing Twisters”

Delta Rae is one of our favorite You Oughta Know artists to emerge over the last couple of years, which is why it was so thrilling to see them appear on-stage at the You Oughta Know In Concert special that airs tonight at 9/8C on VH1. The band’s Brittany Holljes (aka @brittanyhellyes) and Liz Hopkins (aka @batsparkles) join an all-star cast of performers during the evening’s closing number, “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, but that’s not all that’s new with this North Carolina six-piece.
