Self-Described “Total Foodie” Jessie Ware Dines At NYC’s Renowned Sons Of Essex

Jessie Ware Sons Of Essex

Jessie Ware is VH1′s You Oughta Know artist this month, and we were lucky enough to spend some quality time with her recently here in New York City. Anyone who follows Ware on Twitter (@jessieware) or Instagram knows that the British songstress is a connoisseur of fine food— she describes herself as “a total foodie”— so when she was here in town, we made sure to take her out for a really good meal.

Jessie Ware Thinks Charlie From Girls Is A Hunk

Jessie Ware loves Girls. Not girls (get your mind out of the gutter), but HBO’s Girls. It’s one of her latest obsessions. Her love runs so deep with the generation Y version of Sex and the City she has a request: All she wants is for just one cast member to show up to one of her stateside shows. Read more…

What Jessie Ware Wears

Jessie Ware may single-handedly revive the crop top stateside. Along with signature colors of black and white, crop tops are Jessie’s go-to wardrobe pick, but for the Webster Hall show she had something different in mind. Just don’t expect her to steer too far away from black. Read more…

Jessie Ware Performs Double Duty At Coachella While Looking And Sounding Flawless

2013 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Day 3

Music fans and MDMA enthusiasts alike converged in Indio, California over the last few days for the first weekend of the 2013 Coachella Festival. Sadly, we were stuck on our couches here in New York City and not in attendance, but thanks to the magic of YouTube, we spent a considerable amount of time over the weekend watching the myriad acts on the lineup delight both the sober and not-so-sober members of the audience (we’re talking to you, denizens of the Sahara Tent). Of course, one of our favorite acts of the weekend was our April You Oughta Know artist, Jessie Ware, who performed not once but TWICE over the weekend.

MUSIC SEEN: You Oughta Know Artist Jessie Ware Experiences The Sights And Sounds Of New York City

Jessie Ware VH1 Music Seen

Jessie Ware is VH1′s You Oughta Know artist this month, and we had the great fortune of spending a few days with her in New York City earlier this month. Jessie’s debut album, Devotion, hits U.S. shores tomorrow (4/16/13), and if you didn’t happen to pick it up when it was released in the U.K. last fall, you’re in for a treat. It’s one of the lushest R&B albums we’ve heard in years, one that has evoked comparisons to Sade and Blue Lines-era Massive Attack, and racked up a number of “Best Of” awards (including many mentions in VH1′s Best 10 Albums of 2012).

Jessie Ware Pens A Doomed Love Song For Big Pun

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jessie Ware as our You Oughta Know artist for the month of April. We’ve been full-on stans for her debut LP, Devotion, ever since it was released in the U.K. late last summer, and we can’t wait until U.S. audiences are able to hear the album when its U.S. edition drops next Tuesday (4/16). One of our favorite tracks on the album is a bouncy number called “If You’re Never Gonna Move,” which draws its inspiration from a picture that Jessie Ware once saw of the hip-hop artist Big Pun.
