outkast_art_main

The 2014 Hangout Music Fest ended with a twin bang last night, as the recently-reunited OutKast took their rightful place as headliners on the main stage in front of 45,000 screaming fans shakin’ it like a Polaroid picture. On hiatus since 2007, the Grammy-winning duo’s set of 40 festival dates have become the most anticipated tour of the year. Apparently they got off to a rocky start during their debut gig at Coachella last month, but tonight they brought their A-game, delivering a hit-packed tour through their entire two-decade history.

The Black Keys are never shy about speaking their mind (just ask the Beliebers), and lately they’ve made it known that they’re not fans of Michael Jackson’s new record, XSCAPE. And that’s putting it mildly. “[It's] some f-cking bullsh-t that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable,” drummer Patrick Carney recently vented Rolling Stone. Their feelings had not cooled when they met up with VH1‘s own Jim Shearer before kicking off their world tour at Hangout Fest!

But the award for most baller act of the night goes to hybrid-rapper/hip-hop iconoclast Danny Brown. The 33-year-old Detroit native rep’d the D in the deep South, spraying the crowd with rhymes rattled off like machine-gun fire, and streams of water from squirt guns!
