How Ironic That Madonna Was Being “Ironic” When She Called Obama A Black Muslim

Madonna Says She Was Being Ironic When Calling The President A Black Muslim

At this point the MDNA tour is synonymous with controversy. From the tears to protests to swastika iconography to faux gun waving to lawsuits to nip slips, Madonna managed to ruffle more than a few feathers all before hitting the North American leg of the tour. Not wanting her North American fans to feel left out, while in D.C. Madonna gave a strange endorsement of President Obama. “Y’all better vote for… Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right?” she encouraged concertgoers. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? That was until she followed up with the now infamous, “We have a black Muslim in the White House.” Oh, Madonna, Madonna, Madonna. Read more…

Madonna Appeases Protests And Paid Tribute To Warsaw Uprising

After several weeks of controversy and defiance, Madonna has hewed ever so slightly to her protesters. The Queen of Pop compromised with critics in Poland, and incorporated World War II-era newsreel footage of the Warsaw Upsrising against the Nazis into her set during her MDNA tour stop there last week. Where’s The Love? Madonna Gets Booed And Called A “Salope” In Paris

Madonna Gets Booed

Madonna has no effs left to give. The controversial MDNA tour had its fair share of controversies with nip slips, tears and the superimposed swastika on French right-wing politician Marine Le Pen. As if that wasn’t enough drama for Madge, she was recently booed after her club gig performance at Olympia in Paris. Fans were not pleased when Madonna’s set ended after 45 minutes. Loud boos filled the room quickly, which were followed by water bottles thrown onto the stage. To really show their disappointment the attendees united with chants of “salope,” the French word for slut. The show was livestreamed on YouTube for all of the world to see, but none of the fans’ pleas were enough to get the Queen of Pop to return for an encore. Madonna marches to the beat of her own stilettos. Read more…

Madonna Is Now Defending Her Use Of Nazi Imagery On MDNA Tour

Madonna is the queen of scandal, to be sure, but nipples and tears past pale in comparison to this latest MDNA tour controversy. Despite the criticism and legal threats drawn, Madonna refuses to remove the swastikas — including one superimposed onto French right-wing politician Marine Le Pen (as seen at 1:05) — or Hitler imagery from the video projection that accompanies her “Nobody Knows Me” tour performance. Rather, she’s defending the offending footage. As Madge explained in an interview with Brazil’s Fantastico, the American Life track is about “how much we judge people before knowing them,” and she therefore feels that the inclusion of controversial imagery fits her message about “the intolerance that we human beings have for one another.” “Music should be about ideas, right? Ideas inspire music, right?” she said. That’s a slippery slope of logic. Do you think she’s has taken it too far this time?

Madonna Sued For Stealing Parts Of “Vogue,” Only 22 Short Years Later

Madonna Sued Over "Vogue" Hit

Money makes the world go ’round, so they say. Madonna is busy weeping over her own performance or having a minor nip-slip on her MDNA tour, meanwhile a Delaware company has hit her with a lawsuit claiming she stole parts of their song for her 1990 hit “Vogue.” Eons of years later, well, 22 years later, it has dawned on the company that “Vogue” allegedly includes portions of their 1977 song “Love Break.” Rolling Stone reports that VMG claims, “The portions of “Love Break,” which have been copied into “Vogue” and all its various ‘mixes,’ ‘remixes,’ videos, YouTube versions, etc., are numerous but intentionally hidden. The horn and strings in ‘Vogue’ are intentionally sampled from “Love Break” throughout.” Read more…
