PopDust Artist Of The Year Taylor Swift Looks Back At Her Best Year Ever

2012 was the year that  Taylor Swift made her first (mostly) adult record, hosted a VH1 Storytellers, sold 1.2 million albums in a week, broke iTunes records, dated a Kennedy, covered all the magazines and pizza boxes, earned herself $57 million dollars, and — and well, you get the point: Taylor had a tremendous year. In order to properly celebrate her 2012, our pop blogging friends over at Popdust have declared Taylor to be their Artist of the Year. But before she was allowed to claim her crown, she had to answer a few questions about what made 2012 so special for her.

Another day, some more Best Of 2012‘s! The enthusiasts over at Popdust keep close tabs on all of pop music’s going-on’s and their list is accordingly thorough, including all the big names as well as a handful of gems we hadn’t expected but are happy to see make the cut. have done a heroes job and turned their list into a YouTube playlist as well as a Spotify playlist so you really have no excuse not to enjoy it. Popdust’s No. 1 Pop Star Justin Bieber Reveals His “Favorite Things,” Likes Michael Jackson And Porcupines

Popdust has gone ahead and done the impossible: ranked the world’s greatest pop stars. Sure to account for the inspiring, bewildering, hilarious, and the naughty, they’ve created a comprehensive list they call the Popdust 40, described as “artists whose music we love and love lives we find fascinating, who shoot the videos and tap out the tweets that amuse us and who employ stylists to create the globe’s most interesting hair.” Included in their mix are fan nominated K-Pop sensations Big Bang to 2Chainz, Glambert  to Madonna, P!nk to Carly Rae, Skrillex and Ellie Goulding to Jay-Z and Beyonce, and so and and so forth. The list is thorough and exhaustive, and try as we might, we can’t think of anyone more deserving than these forty. And most of all we like that, instead of simply stopping when they hit Number One (spoilers ahead!), they went ahead and asked their No. 1 artist Justin Bieber to rank a few favorites of his own.
