Kanye West wore a straitjacket on stage in Abu Dhabi. Anything is a possibility in his peculiar world. A mysterious screen shot is floating around implying Kanye’s follow-up to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy shall be named Rich Black American. As if his collaborative Watch The Throne joint with his mentor Jay-Z didn’t drill the point that Kanye’s black (obviously) and rich (also obvious) and American (obvious again) this album will serve as another reminder. “Can I have a bad bitch without no flaws / come to meet me without no drawers?” Kanye West rapped those lines about Kim Kardashian in his song “Theraflu” earlier this year, and it appears that BOTH of those wishes came true (particularly the part about “no drawers”). According to multiple reports on Twitter tonight, Mr. West referred to Kimmy K in a concert at the new Revel Casino in Atlantic City earlier tonight not as his “bad bitch,” but rather, as his “baby mama.” RING THE ALARM!
Rumors were flying around earlier this week that Kanye West had knocked Kim Kardashian up, so Kanye’s impromptu announcement in A.C. earlier tonight, paired with Kim’s sister Khloe’s apparent confirmation on Twitter (“Keeping secrets is hard with so many family members! Especially when you are so freaking excited!!!!! LOVE is everything!!!!”), seem to confirm that the news is true. (UPDATE: Yeezy’s bro-in-law, Lamar Odom tweeted “I’m excited for Kanye and my sister! There’s nothing like bringing life into this world! Let’s keep Gods blessings coming!” tonight, and E! News confirmed the pregnancy, too.)

If the news is indeed true, we’d like to wish a hearty Mazel to the couple known as Kimye. Unless, of course, on the child’s 18th birthday Kanye finds out it isn’t his…

In the last year, we have seen an explosion of reality singing competitions on the television airwaves. American Idol has, of course, been the most popular show on American television since its premiere ten years ago in June of 2002, but in the last year and change, we’ve seen NBC (The Voice), ABC (Duets) and Fox (The X-Factor) all launch competitors to the veritable Idol institution, to the point where the market for these programs has become totally saturated. Most Americans would be hard pressed to name the most recent winners of any one of these programs, let alone all four, but there’s no denying that reality television has given an incredible career boost for Adam Levine and his bandmates in Maroon 5.
Today sees the release of Maroon 5’s fourth studio album, Overexposed. One of the tracks on the album, “Tickets,” has been generating some Internet buzz as conspiracy theorists have suggested that it’s a diss track directed at Levine’s co-star on The Voice, Christina Aguilera. Lines like “She’s got tickets to her own show/But nobody wants to go” and “You’re perfect on the outside, but nothing at the core” certainly could be interpreted as being very Aguilera-esque, so when we caught up with Adam Levine and guitarist James Valentine at New York City’s Crosby Street Hotel yesterday afternoon, we asked them point blank to shed some light on the story. (See our video above.)
One of the reasons why Courtney Love remains fascinating despite not having recorded a worthwhile album since the ’90s is because she totally lacks a filter. Just last month, she accused the Muppets of “raping” the memory of Kurt Cobain, but now she’s trained her sights on her longtime enemy, Dave Grohl. Gawker is reporting that Love accused Grohl of trying to seduce her estranged daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, using the private Twitter handle of @Cbabymichelle. Or, as she puts it, “Nothing cuts through the sh*t like a gross old man macking on kurt cobains only child.”
Dave Grohl quickly issued a statement through his rep to Gawker, telling them that “Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue.”
Just like we suspected, the news that Adam Lambert would be taking over as lead singer for Queen is simply not true. Lambert took to Twitter just a few minutes ago to clear up the erroneous reports, which started with London’s Daily Star tabloid, but didn’t truly catch fire until Rolling Stone reported the news. “Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context,” Lambert tweeted, “I haven’t confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA’S. :)” In a separate tweet, he continued, “That being said, I’m truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! :)”
Sorry to break the news to you, Glamberts! We’re sure you won’t take it too hard, though, as we can all comfort ourselves by enjoying the brand new video for “Better Than I Know Myself” for the umpteenth time. Additionally, Adam’s denial of these reports just go to demonstrate exactly how much faith he has in his new record and how committed he is to his upcoming tour. He told our VH1 News correspondent Kate Spencer as much in a recent video interview:
“Well, I think the thing to keep in mind too is that like, you know, I’m a songwriter and I have an album out, or coming out, and that is important to me. That is my first priority, is sharing my music and my message with my fans. But Queen is really cool! And I love the music and I love the honor of being asked and I think it sounds like a lot of fun, so I’m going to try and find a way to kind of make both things happen.”
Remember when we told you to hang up your Madonna hat and put on your Glam-pants today? Well, we hope you’ve got them on, because today is definitely Glamday, and we can’t think of a better way to wrap up the week. Rumors have started circulating that Adam Lambert will be Queen‘s new front man after he told the U.K.’s Daily Star he’ll be joining the band on stage at Europe’s touring Sonisphere festival, and that “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f***ing great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would’ve been proud of.” Speculation that Adam could be the next Freddie Mercury began when he joined the rock legends on stage in an earth shattering performance for MTV’s EMAs late last year.
With everyone desperate for answers, we were lucky enough to get one, straight from the horse’s mouth. We sat down with Adam a few days ago and asked him point blank if he would ever front Queen, to which he coyly replied “There is more things happening with Queen, but that’s all I can say.” When pushed, he elaborated, “Well, I think the thing to keep in mind too is that like, you know, I’m a songwriter and I have an album out, or coming out, and that is important to me. That is my first priority, is sharing my music and my message with my fans. But Queen is really cool! And I love the music and I love the honor of being asked and I think it sounds like a lot of fun, so I’m going to try and find a way to kind of make both things happen. Yeah.” TRY. AND. FIND. A. WAY. Well we know something about that: where there’s a will there’s a way! And we certainly hope that Adam has the will to find the way.

It’s on — with the Super Bowl looming ever closer, everyone is talking about that half time show, and what the Queen Of Pop, Madonna, will bring to the stage for the momentous occasion. Never one to do things by halves, suspicions that Madonna’s show will be spectacular are well founded, with reports flooding in that she’ll appear with special guests M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, and that she’ll be “bringing gay” to the performance. Now, will.i.am has got everyone in a flap by commenting that seizure-dance club kids LMFAO will be joining Madge for the show. In an interview with UK radio station Capital FM, will.i.am said, “I’m going to the Super Bowl this year to see my group LMFAO perform with Madonna. Check that out, will.i.am Music Group is pretty freaking two for two, one year the Super Bowl, the next year another group part of the Super Bowl in collaboration with Madonna. That’s still happening.”
We’re not casting an aspersions on will.i.am’s integrity, but it does seem like a very odd pairing. Yes, “Party Rock Anthem” was a chart topper, but LMFAO’s high energy, doof-blasting dance music doesn’t even come close to being similar with Madonna’s perfectly curated pop sound and image. And from what’s been leaked of MDNA, for instance, the demo to “Gimme All Your Luvin'” it doesn’t seem like Madonna is going down the euro-trance path with her music either. So what would they even play together? Are we looking at a mash-up of the two artists’ music? Or has Madge got something else up her sleeve — a secret collaboration perhaps? And will Nicki and M.I.A still be there? What’s going on? will.i.am has sure ruffled our feathers this morning, and we need answers!

Demi Lovato isn’t afraid of being vocal about her illnesses, and while she’s suffered eating disorders, cutting and drug addiction in the past, she’s always been an advocate of sharing and understanding in order to promote awareness. Recently, Demi Tweeted that she was “Angry” with God, prompting concern that she was back in dire straits.
Making matters worse, rumors began circulating around the Internet last night that Demi had been admitted to Promises, the Malibu rehab clinic to the stars. VH1 reached out to her representatives to get a statement: “The random blog reports are totally untrue,” a rep told us earlier today. We followed up by asking if Demi would be following through on her commitment to perform on February 4 in Chile at the Festival de Iquique 2012, and her people gave us a definitive “Yes.”
It’s being reported that superstar Adele is getting her larynx ready for a return to the stage following her vocal cord surgery late last year. Now, Radar Online is reporting that Adele will not only be attending next month’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles — for which she has 6 nominations — but also that there’s a chance that she will perform for the first time since the surgery that forced her to cancel her remaining 2011 commitments. According to the report, Adele won’t confirm the performance until the beginning of February, until which point we’ll be eagerly biting our nails. Either way, it’s great to see the young star making a speedy recovery, and we’ve got an inkling that performance or not, she’s going to clean up at the Grammys.

The third single from Rihanna‘s album Talk That Talk, is the song by the same name, and it’s set to be a winner, climbing to number 31 on the charts from downloads alone. Featuring vocals by collaborator Jay-Z, the track is already epic enough, but now rumors are circulating that Kanye West could be making an appearance on the release. The rumor began when Australian Chart News Report listed Kanye West along with Jay-Z as a featured artist on the track, and now the Internet is talking the talk. While Kanye West isn’t featured on the album track, there’s still a possibility that there might be an added verse on the single release (much like the added Ye verse on Katy Perry’s “E.T.” release), especially given the trios propensity for working together. With Kanye’s vocal helping to propel “E.T.” to number one position on the charts, if the rumor is indeed true, it could do wonderful things for Rihanna’s already impressive record for hits.
