Ed Sheeran Had Terminal 5 Wrapped Around His Finger On Friday Night

If not already, we suspect you’ll soon be wise to Ed Sheeran, his much anticipated appearances on Taylor Swift and One Direction‘s forthcoming albums only helping to quicken the pace with which he’s gaining ground and winning hearts stateside. In town Friday night for the New York City stop of his sold-out You Oughta Know tour, he kept the mostly young and female crowd rapt for the entirety of his two hour set by engaging them in his otherwise one-man show, acting equal parts the charming host, the talented music-man and the crush-worthy pop star. And although his frequently deployed Rick Rossgrunt may be less than potent, all the rest of Sheeran’s stage show is more than impressive. Read more…

Ed Sheeran Brings His “Lego House” To VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live

Lucky us! The ever charming Ed Sheeran spent his morning here at VH1 headquarters, indulging his new BFF, VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown’s Jim Shearer, in a “beautiful Ed Sheeran thigh” talk and treating us all to a performance of “Lego House” on Big Morning Buzz Live. Tonight the You Oughta Know artist past and Posted star present is playing New York’s Terminal 5, and as Shearer points out, he’ll play without a backing band because — as he proved with this morning’s performance — he sounds impressive enough with just a guitar and his voice. “Eventually,” he says, he might get a band because it’s “healthy to leave yourself space to evolve.” Until then, we’ll continue to enjoy him as is!

Ed Sheeran Wants To Take You On Tour As VH1′s September Posted Artist

Posted is back again, this time with Ed Sheeran, the young singer-songwriter from England we came to love when he was featured as our You Oughta Know artist last May. And we are excited to get to know even better yet this month, through photos and tweets and stories about his life on the road, as shared exclusively with us by Sheeran himself.

Sheeran has bucked the “doof doof” trend that has swept the music world as late, and instead found international success with his guitar and introspection. Blending heartfelt vocals and folk, and occasional a hip-hop inflected hook or two, he’s ranked a No. 1 album in the UK already and he’s also found time to help write cute British boy band du jour One Direction‘s much anticipated album, as well as with Taylor Swift for her new album — and as we know, Taylor won’t share credits with just anyone. Sheeran is about to embark on a headlining tour of North America, and we eagerly anticipate what he’ll have to show us from his time out! Read more…
